This Week's Outfits + A Giveaway!

Hi guys!
First things first. If you guys want to win all of the items in the photo below (plus a few extra surprise items), make sure you go check out my Instagram @makefashionyourown to learn how you can win! :)

It's been a really busy week, but I can't believe I'm already 2 weeks into school. It's seriously going by so fast! Before I know it, I'm going to have my degree, which still boggles my mind to this day.
As some of you guys know, I'm a sophomore in college, and since starting college, 2 things have really influenced my style. 1. No dress code 2. No one cares what you wear. College is definitely not like high school. You don't have to be so dressed up everyday, because people just don't care. You're judged by the what you know, not by what you wear. This has definitely changed the way I dress for school, because I now wear things like sweatpants or sneakers, but I still am able to add my own touch of sass, and make an outfit very me. I'm going to try to make this a weekly thing, so you guys can see what I wear IRL, and you guys can also use my outfits as inspiration for school. I hope you all have a great 3 day weekend, and enjoy the rest of summer!

Sunday.
I wore this outfit for a day of errands, a movie date with my best friend from California (we saw "If I Stay" & cried like babies!) & a late lunch.

OOTD: Keeping Things Sassy

Hi guys!
For today's post, I wanted to share the details of my outfit today, as well as some more pictures & I even talk about how I recreated this outfit.

BTW I'm holding a giveaway over on my Instagram (@makefashionyourown) starting on Friday, and everyday this week, I'm posting a picture revealing clues as to what I may be giving away, so make sure to go on over to my Instagram, and check it out!

If you guys follow me on Instagram, you might've seen that I posted a picture on Sunday night of an outfit from Seventeen Magazine that I told you all that I was going to recreate for Monday. I really love my fashion inspiration wall, because anytime I want to try something new or am having a little trouble coming up with an outfit for the next day, I can always look on there and pick an outfit, and try to recreate it the best I can with what I have in my wardrobe. If you all are interested in this kind of thing, let me know in the comments down below or head on over to my Instagram and let me know there. I can make this a bi-weekly or maybe monthly thing where I take pictures from my inspiration wall or you guys could even send them over to my email, and I could recreate them and show you all how to recreate them at home as well.

Now as you can see, my outfit is not an exact replica of the Seventeen outfit. I wanted to keep it neutral, and I of course do not have the exact pieces that they used, so I had to use what was in my wardrobe.
Sweatershirt: The 17 outfit had a light sweater, but since I don't have any light sweaters in any neutral colors, I ended up using this "Vintage" sweatshirt that I bought at LoveCulture a few years ago, and I rolled up the sleeves to give it the same vibe as the 17 outfit.
Vest: The one in the 17 outfit is definitely a little more true blue denim, and has more distressing which went great with the bold color pallet they were working with, but I decided to just pair a light wash denim vest that I purchased from Wet Seal.
Skirt: I chose this black circle skirt, because again, I was trying to keep it neutral, but I still wanted to make my outfit sassy to match my personality and I really love the way circle skirts move and flounce with my body when I'm walking.
Necklace: 17 paired their outfit with a really pretty flower scarf, which I was going to add to my outfit since I have something similar, but it's still pretty hot in Denver right now, so I decided that 2 layers was enough, and instead paired it with a statement necklace that also tied my shoes in together nicely.
Shoes: If you follow me on Instagram, you might've seen that I've been wearing this Sam & Libby for Target silver oxfords A LOT lately, and that's because they're cute, they're comfy, and they add just the right amount of pizazz to any outfit.

Back to School Lookbook

Hi guys! :)
It's finally here, my Back to School Lookbook! I've been trying to get this up for the past couple of weeks, but as some of you know I recently had surgery to remove an inflamed appendix, and I'm still having some trouble fitting into some of my clothes. I'm using pictures from past outfits, but they're actually styled the way that I was planning on styling the new outfits, so it worked out pretty great :)
I'm currently a sophomore in college, so my style is a little less restricted due to the fact that I no longer have to follow a dress code, so if you're in middle or high school and want to wear one of these outfits, you can simply alter it by adding a cute blazer on top or some tight under the shorter skirts to make it a little more fall time appropriate. I hope you guys enjoy! If you want to see any other lookbooks tailored to what your dress code at school, leave a comment down below, or head on over to my Instagram page (@makefashionyourown) and leave a comment on one of my recent pictures, and I will try to do something soon! I love you all and I can't thank you enough for all the support you've given me these past couple of years. My blog turned 2 earlier this August, and I can't believe how far it's gotten in such a short time!
