Dash of Gold.

Hello beautiful readers!
I want to start off by saying that I missed you guys so much this past week, but for those of you who follow me on Snapchat (@cynthiap18), you guys saw that my little man was hospitalized for 7 days due to an infection in his blood. I won't go into much detail, but thankfully my husband and I recognized that he wasn't acting like himself and took him into the ER only a couple hours after he developed a fever, and they caught the infection right away and treated it in time and it didn't turn into anything else and it won't have any effect on him as he gets older. He was discharged on Sunday and he's doing so well, so thank you everyone for your well wishes and prayers for him. It was a stressful, overwhelming, and frightening time for my little family, but our little guy is so strong and he pulled through! I had planned on posting some blog posts the week he was in the hospital since he slept quite a lot due to the antibiotics he was on, but I couldn't concentrate long enough to get much blogging done.

Since getting married and becoming a mom, I have to say that my style definitely matured a lot but not in what I consider a bad way lol. I like more neutrals and don't wear as bold prints as I used to, but I feel like I still have fun when I get dressed in the morning. I know this is gonna sound very shallow, but I am so afraid of people saying I dress like a mom. Yes, I know that sounded as bad reading it as it did when I was writing this post. I just feel like theres a certain way that people think moms and wives are supposed to dress, but I'm still only 21 years old, and being perceived as those things by the way I dress are not something that I want. I love being a mom and a wife and those are my two most important roles, but I feel like my style and the way I dress shouldn't reflect that. Am I the only one who feels that way? Any who, when I was getting dressed this morning, I decided to once again pull out some of my favorite maternity clothes (this shirt and jeans) and style them in a way that was much sassier than how I would've worn them when I was pregnant. I love the look of gold and navy blue, so I went with these strappy flats that I purchased last December and I totally forgot about until I did a little clean out in my closet at my parents house and discovered them all over again. I'm obsessed with this layered pearl necklace that I found at Walmart for only $3 this past weekend when I was picking little man up some more formula. Thank you by the way to all the bloggers that have been posting about all the amazing fall stuff Walmart came out with this year. I picked up quite a lot of stuff, and theres still a couple items that I'm looking for, so I'll be posting about them once I purchase those. Expect a full (or even a couple of blog posts) around all the items I purchased there. I went with my signature bun and a bold lip for my hair and makeup and threw on this small bag my hubby gifted me when we were dating.

I love stripes for fall so expect to see more looks with stripes soon! What are your favorite looks for fall? Comment down below or head on over to my Instagram (@makefashionyourown) and comment on one of my pictures and let me know!

Summer Days Drifting Away.

Hi loves!
It's so secret that I LOVE the fall time. The falling leaves, the layering, the chilly nights, the pumpkin spice everything. Fall is magical. It feels like fall brings a fresh start every year, and this year that's especially true for me. I'm starting a new chapter in my life as a mommy, and I'm starting fresh with my blog once again. Today's look was created around this amazing BCBG long cardigan. I scored it at Goodwill a few months ago, and it was actually intended for my Instagram shop, but I fell in love with it so much that I decided to keep it for myself and wait for the fall time to try wearing it, and I am honestly so happy I kept it! I already have about 3 or 4 different outfit ideas in my mind for how I want to wear this in the future, so expect to see quite a lot of this cardigan. As I said in my last post, I feel like I'm always rushing out the door and that combined with being a mommy now and trying to be practical, has really changed and evolved my style. Last fall, I wore a lot of skirts and shorts, but this fall, I'm more of a jeans a v-neck kind of girl. I purchased these jeans when I was about 3 months pregnant and I wore them up until the day I gave birth, and they still fit! They're from Forever 21 and they're in a "Boyfriend Jeans" style, and they're seriously my favorite pair of jeans ever. I also purchased this white v-neck when I was about 8 months pregnant from Target for only $12, and I love the fit and feel of it so much that I went back last weekend and bought it in 3 more colors and I'll be back this weekend to purchase 3 more. They're just so cute and they go with seriously everything and I have been looking for a tee like this for years and I'm so glad I finally found them! I decided to pair my outfit with some booties because there is just something about this color boots with the color blue of my cardigan paired with some distressed jeans and a simple white tee. I am in love with this outfit and I'll probably wear it again multiple times before fall is over. I think I'm going to be posting every other day, and I'm going to try to stick to that, but please don't hate me if I don't. It will be every 3 days at the most, but sometimes it's so hard to find some time to myself and go shoot pictures. I love you all and thank you so much for the positive responses and feedback to my last blog post. You guys make me feel like I was never really gone and I love that feeling.

3 Quick and Easy Fall "Mommy" Outfits

Hello beautifuls!
I am so happy and excited to finally be back to doing outfit posts and getting back to a routine of posting on my blog. I again want to thank all of you who have stuck around the past year or so even though my blog didn't have the best content. It feels so good to be back in my old clothes and feeling good about myself and my appearance again. I still have some weight to lose, but I have to keep reminding myself that I only had Baby Edward 3 weeks ago and that it's going to take a little bit before my body goes back to normal and all the swelling goes down completely. I decided to incorporate my new mommy status in today's blog post, by showing you guys 3 really quick and easy outfits that I throw on when I'm in a rush and need to get out the door in a hurry. It's definitely very different trying to get myself and a newborn baby ready and packed up to go. It feels like I'm always rushing out the door. My husband recently treated me to a little shopping spree this past weekend to pick up some new fall clothes, so I of course picked up statement pieces to make my outfit stand out. You'll see all those pieces in these next 3 outfits and in more upcoming posts. I don't know exactly what kind of posting schedule I'll have, but I will let you all know in an upcoming post as soon as I know. I love you all so much and I missed you guys!
