November Q&A.

Hey guys!
Today I wanted to do a Q&A for the month of November! I hope these questions and answers help you learn a little bit more about me and if you guys have any questions you would like me to include in next month's Q&A, make sure you email them to makefashionyourown@gmail.com. I hope you're all having a great week, and I'll talk to you guys soon! PS: Shoutout to Nicole for the questions!

There's been a lot of "living like Kylie Jenner" things sweeping the web, would you ever try it?
Absolutely not. I honestly don't think that Kylie Jenner is someone that young girls should aspire to be like, but I also don't think that she should be penalized or looked down for living her life the way that she wants to. She's only 18, and she's been in the spotlight since she was just a little girl, and back then it wasn't her choice. If anyone else that wasn't in the media was doing the things that Kylie's doing, we wouldn't even be batting an eye about it, because we just wouldn't care since it isn't thrown in our faces every time we open up a magazine or turn on entertainment news.

What advice would you give to someone who's been too shy in the past to break out the patterns and colors, but is wanting to start adding more flare to their wardrobe?
My biggest piece of advice there is to start wearing them more subtly. Whether that be by wearing a bright purse with a more neutral outfit, or a funky pair of shoes, dip your toes in the water first before you dive in. Try to just incorporate it into your wardrobe and daily outfits a little bit at a time, and with time you'll be more comfortable with wearing bold prints and colors and that's when you can really go all out. Never wear something that you don't feel good and comfortable in, it'll show. Just work yourself into it.

How do you decide between flats, boots, or heels?
For me, I usually decide based on what I'm wearing. For example, if I'm wearing a cardigan and leggings, I'll most likely wear some riding boots or some flats (slip on sneakers), and the way I decide between those also depends on the weather, or which one goes best with what I'm wearing. If my slip on sneakers go better with the outfit, then I'll pick them over the boots. Sometimes I can decide in my head, and other times, I'll change my shoes a couple of times before finally committing. When it comes to heels, I only really wear high heeled booties and boots, and that's just due to having a baby. It's hard carrying a baby or bending down to pick him up (he spends most of the day on his tummy time mat), so I tend to stick to flat shoes. If my hubby and I are going on a date night or to a nicer restaurant, I'll usually wear them, but again that's only because I'm going to be sitting down most of the time, and not carrying little man's carseat.

Rain boots are especially convenient this time of year, and year round for some. what's the best way to style them up?
I love styling my rain boots with some knee high socks, some leggings, a warm cozy sweater or sweatshirt, and a big scarf. I know some people think rain boots are really heavy and uncomfortable, but I love them! I have a pair that I found from Wet Seal for $3 on clearance a few years ago, and I really would love to purchase a pretty pair of Hunter Boots for this spring! There are so many ways to style rain boots, and Pinterest has tons of outfit ideas!

Are you going to be participating in Black Friday this year?
I did the whole Black Friday thing a few years ago with some friends, and I didn't really find much, but honestly I was just shopping for clothes for myself. This year, my hubby and I have a little man we're obviously going to spoil, along with about 15-20 nieces and countless other family members we have to shop for, so I might hit a couple of stores and try to pick up some presents, but it's not a for sure thing. I'm not really a people person or a wait in line person, so Black Friday really isn't my thing.

What are some items to swoop on while on sale?
I always seem to lean more towards jeans, shoes, and accessories. I always can find pretty good deals on things like dresses or shirts on an everyday basis, but jeans are so hard to find, so I always pick those up when they're on sale. Shoes and accessories I buy like a hoarder, so those I always buy when they're on sale, because I can buy multiple pairs of shoes and tons of accessories (including purses) without feeling guilty or breaking the bank.

What are some of the best finds at stores like Target and Old Navy?
I always tend to pick up my favorite boyfriend tees at Target as well as purses and shoes when they go on clearance. At Old Navy, I picked up some of their Rockstar jeggings (which are my favorite pants in the whole entire world at the moment) as well as their clearance tops. They have really cute oversized tops that I wear quite a lot.

How do you exfoliate? Do you use chemical exfoliators or microdermabrasion?
Honestly? I don't exfoliate at all. I am the worst person ever at taking care of my skin. I sleep in my makeup and I simply use a baby wipe to remove it 30 seconds before I apply that days makeup. My mom gave me her good genes and good skin, so that's something I've never really had to worry about, but when I was younger, I used to use the Wave exfoliator from Neutrogena every other day to help with any little white heads I had here and there from eating too many hot cheetos in high school.

What are you favorite ways to prepare your house for the Holiday season?
Well this is the first year that I've lived in a house other than my parents, and I am slacking so far on decorating for the holidays! I plan on getting some super cute holiday decorations that I spotted at Target on my last trip. I usually just light tons of candles because I love the different holiday smells and it makes our home feel warm and cozy,

What beanies deserve recognition this holiday season?
I am definitely more of a hat girl, but I love the beanies that Target put out in their dollar spot this season, as well as all the pom pom beanies that Forever 21 carries. They're so cute and affordable and I can't wait to wear the couple that I've bought so far!
